Check-up and Clean
Check-up and Clean Robina, Gold Coast
General check-ups and regular cleans are very important to maintain long-term oral hygiene.
We recommend coming in for a check-up and clean every six months to avoid any major damage to your teeth. Our experienced dental team conducts thorough examinations of all patients on every visit before scales and cleans.
During a dental examination, your dentist or oral hygienist will thoroughly check your teeth and gums for any issues, including gum disease and tooth decay. A dental examination may include x-rays, which will allow your dentist to identify issues affecting the underlying jaw bone.
Why Are Dental Check-Ups So Important?
We encourage all of our patients to come in and see us for a dental check-up every six months in order to maintain good oral health, as well as overall wellness. In many cases, signs of serious health issues are identified in the mouth, and your dentist may be able to refer you to a doctor if any problems are picked up. Regular dental check-ups are also a great way to stay on track with your oral health. Any abnormalities can be identified and resolved early before they become too complicated, and your dentist can provide you with valuable advice when it comes to taking proper care of your teeth and gums.

What Can I Expect at A Dental Check up and clean Gold Coast?
During a regular check up and clean in Gold Coast, your dentist will examine your teeth in order to assess your overall oral hygiene and look for any oral health issues, such as tooth decay and gum disease. Your dentist will also check your bite and jaw for any alignment issues, and if necessary, perform x-rays to confirm diagnosis of any problems that are not visible to the naked eye.
After your dentist has checked your teeth and gums, they will make any necessary recommendations for treatment based on your particular needs. This is also a good time for you to raise any questions or concerns regarding your oral health and personal hygiene habits.
What Does A Clean and Scale Involve?
After your physical examination has been completed, your dentist or hygienist will begin your dental cleaning. First, they will use a special tool known as a scaler to remove any plaque and tartar that has built up between your teeth and around your gum line. Once all the plaque and tartar have been properly removed, your dentist will use a high-powered brush to clean your teeth and to remove any tartar that may have been left behind following the scaling process. A rough, gritty toothpaste is used to scrub the surface of your teeth, which helps to achieve a polished and clean appearance.
After your teeth have been thoroughly scaled and cleaned, you will be asked to rinse your mouth. This will ensure that any leftover debris is removed. If you choose to have a fluoride treatment applied, your dentist will perform the treatment following the check-up, scale and clean. Fluoride treatments are very helpful in protecting the teeth against decay, and work to strengthen the enamel.
Will I Need a Follow-Up Appointment?
If your dentist identifies any oral health issues that require treatment, they may recommend that you make a follow-up appointment. Your dentist will explain any abnormalities that have been picked up, and guide you through a treatment plan that best suits your needs. Besides check-ups and cleans, the team at Integra Dental also offers a wide range of restorative treatments, including fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, partial and full dentures, as well as dental implants. Should you require any of these treatments, they can be scheduled for an appointment time that works for you.
We also offer root canal therapy and wisdom teeth extraction, which will be explained in detail should you need either of these treatments following your check-up.
The team at Integra Dental also offers dentistry services for children, so we encourage you to bring in the whole family for a visit. Long-term oral health is extremely important, and we look forward to helping you maintain your family’s beautiful smiles! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to arrange a consultation.
